Rudy Gobert scored efficiently in a preseason loss to the Detroit Pistons. The Minnesota Timberwolves fell 106-128 in an exhibition that does not affect the regular season record. Gobert finished with eight points, four defensive rebounds, one assist, one turnover and three personal fouls in 22 minutes of play. He was perfect from the free-throw line, making two of two attempts, and he converted three of four field-goal attempts, giving him a 75 percent shooting clip. While he was on the court the Timberwolves were outscored by four points, as reflected by his minus-four plus-minus rating.

Gobert did not record any steals, blocks or offensive rebounds, and he committed three personal fouls during his time on the floor. His contribution was part of a broader effort by the French contingent, as fellow countryman Joan Beringer added 10 points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes of action.

Despite the efficient scoring and solid shooting percentages, the Timberwolves were unable to keep pace with Detroit, and the final margin reflected a 22-point difference.
