Hannes Steinbach tallies double double in preseason loss
In a preseason exhibition, the Charlotte Hornets fell 117-98 to the Memphis Grizzlies. Hannes Steinbach contributed 19 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes for the Hornets. He shot efficiently, making seven of nine field-goal attempts and converting all five free-throw attempts.
Steinbach’s rebound total split evenly between five offensive and five defensive boards, and he added three steals while recording two turnovers and three personal fouls. While he was on the court, his team outscored the opponent by four points.
The game also featured two fellow Germans. Dennis Schröder logged six points, five rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes, while Christian Anderson added 15 points, two rebounds and six assists in the same amount of time. The 20-year-old Steinbach’s solid performance came despite the overall loss for Charlotte.
